Position Description

Professional member of team who provides and directs the patient in occupational therapy services, as prescribed by the attending physician and under the supervision of the DON.

Duties of the occupational therapist include but are not limited to:
1. The registered occupational therapist will evaluate the patient and set up the plan of treatment with the physician. This is reviewed with the occupational therapy assistant. It will instruct and guide the patient in prescribed therapeutic, self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving independence and physical and mental functioning.
2. Records and reports are to the DON, including he patient's reaction to the therapy program or any changes of the patient's condition.
3. Instructs/educates the family in the patient's program
4. Regularly reviews patient's charts with the DON and occupational therapist assistant
5. Maintains an appropriate level of competence through continuing education
6. Participates in meetings, in services and conferences to enhance optimum patient care and the team approach to patient care.

1. Graduate of a school program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
2. Must be licensed in the state of the HHA
3. Have at least one year of experience in a facility or other organization
4. Must be under the direct supervision of an occupational therapist

Pay: $100,000.00 to $110,000.00 per YEAR
